Koh Lanta is known for being a less commercialized island. One can feel this calm relaxed, 'non-touristy' atmosphere almost immediately upon arrival.
There are basically three ways to get here.
If you are coming here from South Africa, contact Sure Penzance Travel on +27 (0)11 907 9300 and they will put together an itinerary that includes a stopover in Bangkok for the ladies who would like to do some shopping, accommodation to suit your budget, all airfares, transfers and breakfasts (at most of the resorts), gear hire and dives. These packages are really affordable and are the most hassle free way to travel.
Take up any one of the many Thai “travel package deals” on offer from your travel agent, making sure your final destination is either Phi Phi, Krabi or Phuket, delay your “flight” departure date by the amount of time you wish to spend on Koh Lanta, hop on a ferry and come across to Koh Lanta (2 ferries per day between September and April, or minibus during the low season) and we will take care of your accommodation needs with a wide variety of places to stay. When your stay here is over, hop on the ferry to your airport of departure, and fly back home!
Book your flights to either Krabi (easiest) or Phuket and we will arrange for a transfer to and from the island and accommodation to suit your budget.
Travel the right way. Why not get the best out Thailand and learn some thai during your stay? Visit the Lanta Language School while your here.
